The children eagerly await their food especially lunch times where they are treated to sumptuous dinners freshly cooked on the premises by our resident cook, with meals such as mince and dumplings, vegetable hotpot, cheese and potato pie, lasagne, tikka masala, roast chicken and fresh vegetables. There is also home-made treats such as cakes, biscuits and puddings. Drinks are freely available.
Due to a scare about how much salt young children consume, we would like to give you information on your child’s diet at nursery:
We use no processed foods.
Our cook does not add salt to any food.
We use only fresh meat and vegetables.
Our cook makes all meals fresh, she also makes her own curry sauce, bolognese sauce, meat pies, pastry, steamed puddings, fairy cakes, jam tarts and milk puddings.
We use best quality products, named brands of cereal, fish, corned beef and drinks.
Our only sin is crisps and wotsits which are served no more than once in any five weeks.
Our cook goes to great lengths to accommodate children with special dietary needs.
We may have to change the menu in an emergency, if the cook was ill etc.

The staff sit with the children at meal times and teach them basic table manners and the use of utensils including the correct use of a knife and fork. The children sit with staff in family groups.
There is afternoon tea with assorted sandwiches, scones, malt loaf etc.
We use only fresh foods available from our local supermarket. Our meat is purchased from the butcher who has traded for many years in the village.
We always receive top marks from the Environmental Health Department for our kitchen hygiene, and our cleanliness throughout the nursery.

Doors from the playroom lead into our large conservatory which is used for Pre-School children under the supervision of our fully qualified school teacher.
